HI,
Has anyone any details on how to build "Haskell" type Organ pipes.
I build Small Pipe organs and wish to use "lower" Notes , and obviously the Shorter the pipes, the better it would be for me.
I have read a little on these and understand they work on "Large" Pipes, I was wondering if the "Haskell" system would work on Smaller Pipes. ( About C2 ).

Cheers chris

Dave Wasson built a set for his organ "Trudy." He published a description in the COAA (Carousel Organ Association of America) magazine, The Carousel Organ, about a year and a half ago.

The issue should be available by buying a copy of the back issue CD.

See http://www.coaa.us/archives.html

Actually the best buy is the newest CD which includes all 30 issues to date. That is not yet listed on the web site.

I found my copy of the article. It was in Issue 28, June 2006. It would be inappropriate for me to post a copy of the article, but I will post some comments and web links in a few days - when I have had a chance to work out a decent draft. Possibly this will be as a post to http://www.aobg.co.uk/

I have just returned (by a slow route) from the last COAA Rally of the year held in St. Joseph, Michigan.

I asked the editor about sales of the new comprehensive 30 issue CD to overseas addresses. He agreed that he could accept PayPal and ship to foreign addresses for $30. I will post more details in a day or two when I find my notes.

The Carousel Organ is the Official Journal of the Carousel Organ Association of America (COAA). The Editor/Publisher is Ron Bopp.

Each issue of The Carousel Organ Journal contains news and articles of interest to band organ enthusiasts. There are several articles provided in PDF format on the COAA web site for your review:

Back Issues of the Carousel Organ are now available on CD. The issues are in Adobe PDF format which may be easily opened on your computer and/or printed out for later reading.

The description of the CD on the COAA web site www.coaa.us are slightly out of date.

A new, cumulative CD containing Issues 1 through 30 may be ordered from the Editor of the Carousel Organ for US $30.00 (payable in US Dollars ONLY) including international postage and packaging. Mail orders should be sent to:

Ronn Bopp, Editor
Carousel Organ
25241 S. 630 Rd.
Grove, OK 74344 USA

You can also use PayPal by sending your payment to:
bopp@peoplepc.com
Be sure to use an appropriate subject such as "Purchase of Carousel Organ CD" and that your address is correctly shown.

As a COAA Member you would receive 4 Quarterly Issues of the Carousel Organ Journal annually and a special separate and organ rally edition.

Haskell pipss are generally constructed and voiced according to the normal pipe dimensions execpt that the length is shorter than the speaking length (normally for Base pipes). the qualifier is that the pipes are wider, so it is a limiting factor in small organs. More information can be had from http://www.organstops.org/_apps/HaskellBasses.html
