As you might have read on the "General" section of this Forum, I'm a new starter, just embarking on my first project.
Whilst sitting in the shed yesterday, working out just where to site the pipes on the top of my windchest, I thought "I know how a pipe speaks, but how do big organs, such as fairground types, get the air to work the bass drum, or any other drum, for that matter?"
Then, because cymbals are also in the "Bash Bash" department, I wondered "How on Earth do they work?
Any takers, please?
John

Well John if your building a midi pipe organ you can use large solenoids. But has you will know large solenoids use more current, so please see this thread.

If you need more help on this just post and I will assist if I can.

Hello John
If you look on CURCUIT REQUIRED on this section you will see how to boost the output from your midi board .I myself have been experimenting with solonoids for percusion and have found relays to be reliable. You can use a solonoid to colapse an air bellows to strike thuds and clangy things but this involves making a valve and bellows box.
shout if you get stuck someone will help. all the best JDS
