Thanks to D Baumber for sending your photos to the AOBG for all our members to see. Sorry for the big delay in posting your article.
This series of pictures were taken, when I remembered, during the construction of my 26 note Universal Organ “Aficionado” to a design by John Smith with minor variations. Aficionado is a Spanish word meaning enthusiast or amateur. Differences from the plans are shown; these are mainly in the rotating parts with use of aluminium for the main material. I felt that I could achieve a higher degree of accuracy than had I used wood. The result is very pleasing & gives much satisfaction – a nice instrument which is easy to turn and also easy on the ear. I hope that others can gain a few ideas from what is shown and in the end share in the pleasure of creating music.

Happy building & playing. Dennis Baumber
